Groups are small to ensure you have enough time for individual tuition and support as needed. No prior experience is necessary and workshops will be tailored to suit you. All materials and tools are supplied.

Workshops can be arranged for groups of two or more on request.

Why not give yourself time to enjoy the experience of staying in one of our unique cottages, be inspired, perhaps learn something new and take home your own unique creation. Workshops can be booked for a day or as a package with accommodation and breakfast. Stay one or two nights the choice is yours!

CARD MAKING: Are you fed up of not being able to find an appropriate greeting card at a reasonable price? Come and learn some simple techniques to create your own cards using easily available materials, taking home several usable examples and lots of ideas for future projects.

WET FELTING: Learn the art of wet felting using New Zealand wool. Discover how to blend fibers to create a flat piece of fabric and use a resist to create bags, slippers and many other items.

NEEDLE FELTING: Discover the art of sculpting wool fibre with a barbed needle. Create a simple animal or figure or make a brooch to wear.

ECO-PRINTING: Discover the potential of leaves and natural materials to create colour prints on paper and natural materials such as silk and cotton. This is dying as nature intended with no harsh chemicals to harm you or the environment. Create some sample pieces and a finished silk scarf to be proud of.

BONE CARVING: Create a taonga (treasure) for yourself or as a gift, using locally sourced beef bone. Both hand and power tools will be utilised to give a basic knowledge of the ancient art of bone carving.

STONE SCULPTING: Using Oamaru stone, you can sculpt a piece to grace your home or garden in this workshop. Using easily available hand tools, you will only be limited by your imagination!

JUNK JOURNALS: What is a junk journal and how do you make one? Come and find out in this fun workshop, turning ‘junk’ into a beautiful keepsake journal. Once you’ve made one you won’t want to stop!
