Tui is the ultimate off-grid, tiny house experience. Set on the river bank with expansive views and screened from the other cottages by a stand of hazelnut trees, this is a secluded spot. The front windows of the cabin open up allowing you to lie in bed and watch the stars above the river, whilst deer are often seen just outside and in the orchard to the rear!
In the middle of Tui is a quirky, hand built wooden cart which has a kitchenette at one end and a table with seating at the other. A covered deck leads to a cosy (fully insulated) cabin providing a bedroom with picture windows overlooking the river. At the other end of the deck is a private bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. The bedroom contains a queen bed and the seating in the cart makes into a single bed, (suitable for a child or teenager). Two small solar systems supply power for lighting and USB charging ports. The kitchenette is fully equipped and has a chilly bin, a two burner gas hob and small grill. A barbecue on the covered deck adds to the cooking facilities and makes self-catering easy. A larger guest fridge/freezer is also available nearby.
